The Department annually offers the following three gold medals to honour academic excellence of the students at the convocation.
Professor P. Wilson Gold Medal
This medal awards to the student who passes the Honours Degree in Economics with the highest GPA if he/she has obtained at least a second class upper division.
Professor S. Thilakarathne Gold medal
This medal awards to the student who passes the Honours Degree in Economics with a First Class and earns the highest GPA for Economics course units.
Professor Upali Wickramasinghe Gold medal
This medal awards to the student who passes the Honours Degree in Economics with a First class and earns the highest GPA for course units under the special field ”Development Economics.”
The department would like to extend gratitude to above three professors for making all the arrangements to award the medals regularly.
