Introduction and rationale
Dean’s list award/distinction is offered to recognize the highest level of academic excellence demonstrated by students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), University of Sri Jayewardenepura. It is expected that the recognition will encourage the students to do better in studies in the forthcoming academic years and at interviews/ respective workplaces after the completion of their studies.
Selection criteria for the award
The level of academic excellence is measured by the highest GPA for all subjects taken together in a particular academic year (GPA calculated from the results of 1st and 2nd semester examination). In addition, the candidate has to have obtained a minimum of 70 marks (A) for all the subjects studied in his/her specific academic year.
Selection of grantees
The award/distinction is granted to the student,
- Who receives the highest GPA in his/her first year of studies in FHSS.
- Who receives the highest GPA in his/her first year of studies in FHSS.
- Who receives the highest GPA in his/her second year of studies in the Special/Honours degree in FHSS. (English Medium)
- Who receives the highest GPA in his/her second year of studies in the Special/Honours degree in FHSS. (English Medium)
- Who receives the highest GPA in his/her second year of studies in the Special/Honours degree in FHSS. (English Medium)
- Who receives the highest GPA in his/her second year of studies in the Bachelor’s degree in FHSS.
